Texas Online Franchise Tax Calculator

This came straight from Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts - they are great about communicating with Texas corporations:

The new Online Franchise Tax Calculator (PDF, 263KB) is now available on Window on State Government.  This tool allows you to estimate your potential franchise tax liability for report years 2008, 2009 and 2010.  Your actual tax liability may differ from the estimate because of special provisions in the legislation.

Texas Franchise Tax, finally done

Since Rhodes Holdings LLC and most of our clients do business in the great State of Texas, we wanted to keep everyone up to date on information for Texas corporation.  Last year, the Texas legislature changed the franchise tax, or corporate income tax if you live in other states, so that it it could alleviate some of the high property taxes here in Texas.  It looks like it might have backfired, as the changes to the corporate tax might affect many small businesses negatively - like to the tune of increasing their corporate taxes 20 times in some cases. Well, I always believe that you should put your money where your mouth is, so that is just what I have done!  My friend, John Newman, referred me over to Ali McDougal, a young lady with a campus mission at the University of Houston and Texas Southern University.  With this, I get to affect two items I love - U. of H. and God’s mission on earth.
